Our Story
There are an estimated 14 million commercial door systems installed in buildings all over North America, and many of them don't receive routine maintenance, or aren't equipped with properly functioning safety devices, such as photo-eyes or sensing edges.
We created SafedoorPM with two goals in mind:
- to encourage and make simpler the implementation of planned maintenance and safety programs for door owners everywhere, and
- to put world class tools in the hands of door dealers to perform those programs.
There's nothing quite like SafedoorPM in the industry. We've gathered, reviewed and vetted thousands of pages of technical documents to build a knowledge-base and expert system of manufacturers' maintenance practices and safety standards. We call this knowledge-base, DEXSYS (door expert system), and we're adding to it every day.
We put DEXSYS in the hands of service technicians with our sophisticated iPhone app which also includes other useful features such as convenient ways to input notes, take photographs, and access each door's entire PM history. Now on-site technicians are armed with a powerful tool, instead of a blank paper checklist, and can perform and record PM work more productively, transparently, and consistently.
Door owners similarly benefit as their doors operate more reliably, are less prone to disruptive emergency failures, and meet workplace safety standards.
