Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 31, 2019
his is the Privacy Policy of Safedoor Planned Maintenance LLC. (“Safedoor”, “we”, “us”, “our” and terms of similar meaning). It describes the personal information we collect from you as part of the normal operation and provision of our Services (as defined in our Terms of Service viewable at www.safedoorpm.com/tos), and how we use and disclose this information.
By accepting the Terms of Service in your sign-on process or by visiting and using the Services, you expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy and not defined herein have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Service.
In delivering Services to our Subscribers, we collect a variety of information and data through the Applications and Site. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, we differentiate between personal information and User Content. User Content is a Subscriber or Customer owned asset as further described in the Terms of Use. For example, information about a Subscriber’s Customers, asset configuration data, or inspections and maintenance results that a Subscriber provides to the Services is User Content of that Subscriber. The collection and use of User Content is governed by the limited license provided to Safedoor, as described in the Terms of Service. This is in contrast to personal data, which is entered and generated by Users during the registration process and while navigating the Site. This Privacy Policy governs our policies toward and use of such personal information.
1.What Information Do We Collect?
Our primary purpose in collecting personal information from you is to support our efforts to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. This enhances our ability to provide services and features that most likely meet your needs, and to customize our service to make your experience safer and easier. We only collect personal information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this purpose.
In general, you can browse the Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself other than general information about your IP Address and other passive internet based information as further described herein. Once you become a User, we may require you to provide various contact and identity information, billing information, and other personal information (which varies, depending on what kind of User you are), and you are no longer ‘anonymous’ to us. Personal data (both inputted by you and collected passively by the Site) may include, but is not limited to the following:
Identity Data, for example first name, last name, company name, username or similar identifier, job title, etc.
Contact Data, for example billing address, shipping address, email address, and telephone numbers.
Financial Data, for example payment card detail.
Transaction Data, for example details about payments from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.
Technical Data, for example internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
Usage Data, for example information about how you use our website, products and services.
We may also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data because this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature. However, if we combine or connect Aggregated Data with your personal data so that it can directly or indirectly identify you, we treat the combined data as personal data which will be used in accordance with this privacy policy.
We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (for example, details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, health data, and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offenses.
IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL DATA
Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under our Terms of Service, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the Services for you. In this case, we may have to cancel the Services but we will attempt to notify you at the time if this is the case.
In addition, as you use the Services, it may be possible for you to enter other personal information about yourself, another User, or a third party (for example, in notes fields in the Applications). You always have the option to not provide information by choosing not to become a User or by not using the particular feature of the Services for which the information is being collected.
If you are a Subscriber, we collect your credit card information for billing purposes. We maintain PCI compliant processes and systems, and therefore we do not retain your credit card information. Instead, we enter the data into and use a third-party credit card processor that stores your encrypted payment information according to their processes and terms.
We may also automatically track certain information about you based upon your behavior on the Services. We use this information to do internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand, protect and serve you and our community. This information may include the URL that you came from (whether or not this URL is on our Site or Applications), which URL you next go to (whether or not this URL is on our Site or Applications), your computer browser information, and your IP address.
As you interact with our website, we will automatically collect technical data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns. We collect this personal data by using cookies and other similar technologies.
“Cookies” are small files placed on your hard drive that assist us in providing our Services. We use cookies to allow you to enter your password less frequently during a session, and we use data collection devices (such as Google Analytics), including cookies, on certain pages of the Site and Applications to: help analyze our web page flow; measure promotional effectiveness; promote trust and safety; offer certain features that are only available through the use of a cookie; and allow us to provide information that is targeted to your current session and interests. We link the information we store in our cookies to personal information you submit when you create a Safedoor account. We may use third-party service providers to assist us in monitoring your use of the Services. Information collected by these cookies is also governed by this Privacy Policy.
Following your registration for the Services, you can review and change certain information in your account area. If you disclose personal information in any posting in a forum or blog and wish to have it removed, please contact us at the support contact information listed below, and posted in the Site or Applications.
We also may use Google, as a third party vendor, to serve Safedoor ads on other websites. Google uses what it calls a “DART cookie” to enable it to serve ads to users based on their visits to participating websites. As a result, the ads that you may be served on the internet may in some cases be based on your visit to our Site. You may be able to opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google site at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
