SafedoorPM Workflow
SafedoorPM utilizes mobile technology and an expert system of PM standards and practices to deliver better PM programs.
Working to the practices & standards provided by DEXSYS, technicians:
A typical SafedoorPM takes about 45 minutes (±15 minutes) per door system depending on its complexity, how much minor maintenance work is performed, whether there’s a one-man or two-man service team, and other considerations.
During the SafedoorPM, every component on the work plan receives a grade from the technician - Pass, Fail, or Unable to Grade. Technicians input notes and take photographs to provide clear, visual information to customers, especially for components receiving a Fail grade.
4. Make recommendations for corrective work. Perform approved work.
SafedoorPM's Follow-up Work Report conveniently captures all identified problems in one simple report including technician’s notes
and photographs, that can serve as the basis for communicating follow-up work to the customer.
After the first SafedoorPM has been done and remedial work completed, the future PM schedule is set using the Schedule tab in the dealer portal. PM interval guidance is provided by DEXSYS taking into account such factors as environment and door cyclage, and future PM due months are set by simply clicking on the calendar grid.
SafedoorPM step-by-step
1. Profile and ID the door system.
1. ID and Configure the door system.
Each door system is identified with a unique 7-digit ID number and given a configuration profile by the technician. The configuration is a detailed description of the door system consisting of important, defining characteristics such as door type, manufacturer(s), size, modes of control, etc., and is used to generate the PM work plan.

2. CREATE A PM WORK PLAN
2. Create the PM work plan.Once the door configuration is complete, technicians query DEXSYS, the mobile app’s on-board expert system, to generate a PM work plan. The work plan consists of a list of elements needing attention, such as: lifting cables, rollers, torsion assembly, drive gear, safety devices, etc. , and the corresponding PM work instructions for each element.
All work instruction practices and standards are benchmarked to manufacturers’ specifications and industry standards because these are the standards that matter for mitigating safety liability and providing optimal door function. |
