SafedoorPM terminology
| Active Inspection | The most recent inspection for the door. |
| Configuration | The important attributes of the door system, such as: door size, type, mode of operation, manufacturer, etc. The configuration determines the work instructions provided by DEXSYS. |
| Customer Portal | The web application where customers can view posted SafedoorPM information for their doors, such as inspections. |
| DEXSYS | The knowledge-base and expert system embedded in SafedoorPM that provides inspections, inspection elements, and work instructions. |
| Due Month | A calendar month when the door is scheduled for a SafedoorPM. |
| Import | A configuration command that enables the configuration of one door to be copied and pasted to another door. |
| Inspection | The primary record of SafedoorPM, comprised of a list of inspection elements that require assessment and/or maintenance, and which receive a Pass, Fail, or Unable to Grade grade. The inspection elements and associated work instructions are provided by DEXSYS based on the door's configuration, and manufacturers' specifications and industry standards. Each inspection has a date/time stamp for creation and completion, and an inspection compliance state determined by the inspection element grades. |
| Inspection Element | A component, or group of components, of the door system that requires inspection and/or maintenance (eg. lifting cables, drive gear, door balance, entrapment devices, etc.). Each inspection element receives a grade: Pass, Fail, or Unable to Grade. |
| Locked / Unlocked | Refers to whether an inspection or configuration is editable. All previous inspections and their companion configurations are permanently locked (read-only) to preserve data integrity. Active inspections can be locked or unlocked by those users with permission. The current configuration is always editable. |
| Not SafedoorPM Compliant | The door does not meet the standards specified in the work instructions. Either the active inspection is not compliant, and/or the schedule is overdue. |
| Post | Posting an inspection makes it visible to the customer on the Customer Portal. Until an inspection is posted, it is visible only to the SafedoorPM dealer. Once it is posted, it cannot be "unposted". |
| Previous Inspections | All inspections other than the active one (ie. most recent). |
| Reconfigure | The workflow where an active inspection is "updated" to reflect a configuration change and all grades, notes and photographs are preserved. Used when a configuration error is discovered after an inspection has been started, or to "update" the inspection for corrective work that changes the configuration (eg. installation of new entrapment device). |
| SafedoorPM Compliant | The door meets the standards specified in all work instructions, with each inspection element of the active inspection receiving a Pass grade, and the schedule being Current or Due. |
| Schedule | The due months during the year when the door is scheduled for SafedoorPM. |
| Unknown SafedoorPM Compliance | It is undetermined if the door meets the standards specified by the work instructions. The active inspection has no Fail grades, but one or more Unable to Grade grades, and the schedule is current or due. |
| Work instructions | The maintenance practices and safety standards provided by DEXSYS for inspection elements and PM intervals. Work instructions are benchmarked to manufacturers' specifications and industry standards, and are the standards by which inspection elements are maintained and graded. |
